Happy March, everyone! I hope you all have had a great week so far. After a short one-week break, I continued working on my photo archive project. Today, I continued to sort through all the photos that were used by the Tower before 2020. This massive folder started with nearly 1100 photos, but today, I got it down to 250 by reorganizing! Most of the photos were of past performances, so I put those into the “Artists Assets” folder. This is where I have put all the photos of the Tower’s best performances. Another large portion of the miscellaneous photos were of movie viewings, so I sorted them into the “Movie” folder. Most of the photos that went into these two folders were in “groupings”. For example, there were several photos of Christmas movies, so I sorted all of these pictures into the “Christmas Movies” subfolders, and repeated this process for other photo groupings. I did the same process with the performance photos, since each performance had several pictures to go with it!
Even though this has been a long and tedious process, it has also been very rewarding. Not only have I learned a lot of new computer skills, but I have also helped the Tower staff organize their archive! Before this project, all the Tower’s photos were spread out into unorganized folders. It took the Tower staff hours to find the perfect photo. Now, hopefully, my project has made this process much more efficient for them! The Tower staff is incredibly hard-working and busy and I am so glad that I have been able to help them out with this project! I am going to continue organizing these photos next week and will soon start a new potential project. Thank you for reading this post, it really means a lot to me. I hope that this blog has helped reignite your passions. I know it has for me!
